Instructions for Applying Edible Cake Toppers
Icing Sheet Cake Toppers
Recommended Surfaces:
Buttercream, fondant, ganache, or chocolate-covered cakes
Instructions:
- Ensure the cake is completely cooled and smoothly frosted. The surface should be dry to the touch.
- Carefully remove the icing sheet from its plastic backing by gently peeling it away.
- Position the topper over the cake and place it gently onto the surface, starting from one edge and lowering it evenly.
- Smooth lightly from the center outward using clean, dry hands to eliminate air bubbles.
- Allow the topper to settle for 10–15 minutes. The image will naturally adhere and blend into the frosting.
Important Notes:
- Do not refrigerate the topper prior to application, as moisture may cause smudging.
- For best results, apply shortly before serving.
Wafer Card Cake Toppers
Recommended Surfaces:
Fondant or firm buttercream
Instructions:
- Ensure the cake surface is smooth and mostly dry.
- If necessary, lightly brush the back of the wafer card with a minimal amount of water or edible glue. Avoid over-moistening.
- Carefully position the topper on the cake and gently press to secure.
- Allow the topper to dry and set naturally. Slight curling may occur initially and will flatten over time.
Important Notes:
- Excess moisture can cause warping or softening.
- Wafer card toppers will not fully blend into frosting as icing sheets do.
Storage & Handling Guidelines
- Handle toppers with clean, dry hands only.
- Avoid placing toppers in humid environments.
- Once applied, do not refrigerate unless absolutely necessary.
